Bryanna Krieger English 1-1A Miss. Lehmann 03-20-19 Bree’s Version If I could change AsYou Like It, I would make it seem more in today’s time, plus add a bunch of humor into the play, so that people won’t get bored and fall asleep. Also, so they like it and so they can understand it more and relate to it instead of being confused and not understanding to what is going on. I wouldn’t want my audience to get bored of my hard work and effort. I would make the costumes for the female roles be hoodies and ripped jeans with Converse, or a cute long-sleeved shirt with leggings and some sliders.Other girls would wear Jennings with no holes and a short-sleeved shirt with a flannel around their waste with some vans, and if they need to dress fancy, they will either have a long, one-colored skirt with either a white or black leotard so it looks like a dress or a long, one-colored dress that looks professional with either black high heels or black flats that look like dress shoes. The men will wear either a hoodie or a shirt that looks nice on them with some rips or no rips on the jeans, and they can either wear Vans or Converse. For their formal wear, the will wear a nice tux or a nice shirt with a vest and tie and some khakis and some black dress shoes. The actors will be at least in the age group of 14 to 17 so teens can be interested in the play more and pay attention to what is going on. I may add some adults, so it seems like the teens do have parents, but the parents will only be in one scene because they won't be very important to this play. The music will go with the moods, so if it’s a bad mood like (anger)it will be a metal rock, if it is sad or depressed mood, it will be a song like “Talking to the Moon”, by Bruno Mars.If it’s a happy mood, it will be the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. If it is a mood when there's love, around the song will be “Let Me Love You” by Mario. In conclusion, this is how I would make the play more modern. With costumes, music, and age appropriate actors. Plus,I want it to be more relatable to teenagers. If feel like many people would like my version more since they would probably want to pay attention more since they possibly got something more to their liking.
